12. New York Jets
It feels like the New York Jets are bracing for yet another head coaching change after this season. Aaron Glenn was brought in from the Detroit Lions in hopes that he could change the culture of the Jets similar to the way Dan Campbell changed the culture of the Detroit Lions.
Unfortunately, you’ve got to have a quarterback that can be a catalyst for all of that.
It sure doesn’t seem like Glenn is going to be around to see what this team looks like with the next franchise QB under center.
A defensive debacle against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8 led to a disappointing loss, and the Jets will now head on the road to face off against a mad Kansas City Chiefs team. It might get ugly fast.
The good news for the Jets? The young core on this roster has been extremely impressive.
11. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans may have been on a bye week in Week 8, but the bye week isn’t going to hide this team from proving itself to be a complete fraud over the first two months of the season.
The Texans were 0-3 to start last season, and they found their way back into the playoffs anyway. After an 0-4 start to the season, they hoped to follow in the footsteps of the 1992 Chargers and become the next NFL team to reach the postseason despite an 0-4 start.
That isn’t going to happen.
Not only are the Texans 2-5 after losing to the Giants in overtime just before the bye, but their pass defense has been uncharacteristically bad.
Then again, this team comes out of its bye week with matchups against the Chargers, Browns, Colts, and Ravens, so could they be 6-5 before we know it? It just feels like the Jaguars have built too big of a lead already this year.
