4. Kansas City Chiefs
After an undefeated 5-0 start to the season, the Kansas City Chiefs have suffered a couple of tough losses in two of the most difficult places to play in the NFL…in a row.
The Chiefs went on the road and lost to the Seattle Seahawks in rather embarrassing fashion, not even getting inside the red zone a single time. It was one of the worst losses and worst offensive performances in the Patrick Mahomes era.
They followed that up by blowing a 24-13 4th-quarter lead against the Denver Broncos in Week 8, getting shut down by the Broncos on a goal-line stand.
The margins in the NFL are extremely thin, and the Chiefs – just like everyone else this season – are being given an opportunity to bounce back. They have the Jets (at home) in Week 9, and we’re expecting them to get back on track in a loud way before making at least one move before the NFL trade deadline.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
When you look at both the AFC and the NFC right now, it’s possible that the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears are the two most “complete” teams in the league at this point. They almost seem to be mirror images of each other at times.
Yet both teams have their flaws. The Jaguars have two losses this season, and have been in the market for some much-needed defensive line help before the NFL trade deadline. Especially with the injury to defensive tackle Davon Hamilton, the Jaguars need reinforcements up front.
They absolutely dominated the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, and that was expected with Joe Fagnano taking the ball for Baltimore. The Jags took care of business, and with time to make some moves before November 10, they already look like one of the most dangerous teams in the league.
And they’re running away with the AFC South…
