28. Dallas Cowboys (3-5)

You run out of words for the way the Dallas Cowboys have played on defense this year. The Cowboys looked like they were well on their way to a comfortable win, but allowing Arizona to score 20 points in the fourth quarter sent the game into overtime, where the Cardinals won by three.

Dallas is now 3-5 on the season and just cannot get out of their own way on defense. From top to bottom, that unit just stinks. Christian Parker, the first-year defensive coordinator, might not make it much longer at this rate, especially given how good the offense can be and how wide open the NFC East appears to be as well.

The Cowboys were outscored by 10 points in the fourth quarter and overtime after carrying a 14-3 lead into halftime and a 17-10 lead into the fourth quarter. This was as ugly, inexcusable a loss as you will see from a team.

27. Arizona Cardinals (3-5)

The Arizona Cardinals are now 3-5 on the season after a thrilling victory over Dallas in Week 8. The team actually sat Jacoby Brissett down and made way for Gardner Minshew, who went 17/23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Brissett went 10/23 for just 119 yards and an interception.

The Cardinals should keep Minshew as the starter for a few weeks and see what happens, as this team has shown the ability to be a bit frisky, and them sitting at 3-5 does keep them somewhat relevant right now.

Arizona will likely still remain low in our power rankings, but this win really showed some heart - good for Mike LaFleur, who was the last head coach to get hired this past cycle and who wasn’t necessarily put into a great situation, either.

The Cardinals are No. 27 in our power rankings.
