2. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have had a long time to stew on that tough first loss of the season at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons.
As impressive as the Las Vegas Raiders have been at times this season, you can understand why the 49ers are coming out of the bye week as 10-point favorites in Week 9.
This is a 49ers team that has pretty much everything, and while they were off, they added old friend DeForest Buckner back to the defensive line. Although the addition of Buckner doesn't come with nearly the same fanfare as the Jeffery Simmons addition by the Bears, he's going to make an impact.
We'll see how quickly this team can bounce back after that loss to the Falcons. My guess is, they'll be able to put on a show offensively against that porous Raiders defense.
1. Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears have been the most impressive team in the NFL this season. I know that may seem like hyperbole or recency bias considering we all just witnessed their blowout win against the Seahawks on Monday night, but this team has no flaws right now.
The addition of Jeffery Simmons makes this Chicago defense legitimately scary. He is a game-wrecker on the interior, and he opens up so many opportunities for others on that Chicago defensive front to make plays.
The thing this Bears team has right now that nobody else in the NFL has? Ben Johnson.
Even with the Sean McVays and Kyle Shanahans of the world, Ben Johnson is probably the biggest difference maker at head coach in the entire NFL right now. He's such a cheat code with his game-planning and ability to win the chess match within games.
Just as Mike Macdonald, who hasn't been outclassed like that basically ever in his time with the Seahawks.
