2. Seattle Seahawks, 2-1

The Seattle Seahawks are now 2-1 on the season after a rather disappointing loss to the Commanders. Despite putting up 31 points, the defense honestly dropped the ball in this one. As we have said before, it's not always the best idea to put too much weight into the first month of the season.

It's often misleading, and while the Seahawks probably should have blown them out, falling to 2-1 and still being among the best teams in the NFL keeps this squad in a good spot. Seattle still boasts one of the best defenses in the NFL and clearly have a passing offense that can hang with anyone.

Seattle was 2-1 through three games last year and 3-2 through five games, so this is still a solid start and doesn't change much of anything with this team for the long-term. Due to the loss, though, the Seahawks are No. 2 in our power rankings.

1. San Francisco 49ers, 3-0

The 49ers might just be the best team in the NFL right now, but they're not in the most ideal situation, as the injuries have already piled up, and you just have to wonder how much longer this team can hang around before those injuries truly catch up to them.

It feels like this team struggles with health most every year, but for now, everything is working for this team, and QB Brock Purdy might just be the MVP of the league at the moment. The 49ers did win 12 games last year but were buried in the NFC West, finishing in third place.

Through three games, the 49ers are a game ahead of the Seahawks and two games ahead of the Rams, so they're starting off strong and are getting excellent QB play in the process. Them stumbling a bit and losing a few wouldn't be a shock, though, if the injuries end up impacting their performance. For now, the 49ers are tops in the NFC.
