Coach of the Year: John Harbaugh, New York Giants
The NFL Coach of the Year award is another one that typically goes to the coach of the team that overachieved compared to preseason expectations.
This year's field is rather deep.
It wouldn't be surprising to see the likes of Kellen Moore included in this list, Jesse Minter, or any other team that could end up going from worst to first this season. At the very least, teams that could bounce back will have coaches at the forefront for this award.
The New York Giants are a team that could absolutely surge this season under Harbaugh. He might not have been what the Baltimore Ravens needed right now, but he's a floor raiser, and it'll be interesting to see what the Giants can be with the floor raised.
NFL MVP: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
The field of candidates for NFL MVP is the deepest I can ever recall seeing.
Whoever emerges as the NFL MVP this upcoming season is going to have earned it the hard way.
Matthew Stafford is obviously the reigning league MVP, and justifiably so. He had a phenomenal season for the Rams, maybe the best of his NFL career to this point, and he even has a chance to repeat.
Players like Drake Maye, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, Bo Nix, Justin Herbert, Caleb Williams, and even perhaps Patrick Mahomes, Trevor Lawrence, and Jordan Love will be in the mix for this award. It's usually a QB, and this year's field of candidates at quarterback is ridiculously strong.
But Josh Allen stands out among the crowd. You can almost feel his MVP season just bubbling beneat the surface as Week 1 approaches.
