NFC South
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 8-9
There is no way another 8-9 record wins the NFC South this year, right??
Well, it could happen again. A trio of NFC South teams finished with just eight wins last year, and there is a non-zero chance we see this again. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been able to win this division with ease in recent years, but a shaky regression season had them on the outside looking in. The Carolina Panthers were able to capture the title, but not this year.
The Buccaneers have 'been there, done that' more than their divisional foes, and right now, the Bucs also have the best QB in the division as well.
New Orleans Saints: 8-9
I am a fan of the New Orleans Saints, and while I could see a path to a winning record and division title this year, it's not happening in our latest predictions. The Saints are a fun team and did win four of five to end the 2025 season, but this roster isn't quite there yet, and rookie receiver Jordyn Tyson is already dealing with an injury, so his potential impact on offense may have to wait.
Atlanta Falcons: 5-12
With as bad as the Atlanta Falcons QB situation appears to be right now, it could be a stretch for this team to win many games in 2026. Sure, the personnel on offense outside of the QB is great, but having a below-average QB situation is a virtual guarantee to finish with a losing record.
Carolina Panthers: 4-13
One team I might be lower on than most is the Carolina Panthers, a team that didn't do much of anything particularly well last year, and that includes QB Bryce Young, who did play the best football of his career last year but was still largely mediocre.
Carolina can't build on 2025 and regresses to the basement in our record predictions.
