Divisional Round
AFC
(6) Cincinnati Bengals @ (1) Buffalo Bills
The Bengals have beaten the Bills in the playoffs before. That came a few seasons ago. I would personally give the nudge to Cincy again here. Burrow is a more reliable, consistent performer than Josh Allen in the playoffs, despite Allen having more playoff experience. I also wonder if the Bills have started to almost overcompensate when the playoffs roll around given how many heartbreaks they have suffered...?
Give me the Bengals in a game that some would think would be an upset.
Prediction: Bengals win
(5) Kansas City Chiefs @ (2) Denver Broncos
The Broncos have now beaten the Chiefs at home four years in a row, dating back to the 2023 NFL Season. There is a clear tide shifting in the AFC West. The Broncos have been a better football team for a year and a half now, and Mile High has proven to be a nearly impossible place to win at for traveling teams.
I really don't see why this potential matchup would be any different. The Broncos win this one and move on to the AFC title game for a second season in a row.
Prediction: Broncos win
NFC
(6) Detroit Lions @ (1) San Francisco 49ers
This would be a rematch of the NFC title game back in the 2023 NFL Season. The 49ers would be coming off some extra rest and could be quite healthy. While the Lions are a fun team and can go toe-to-toe on offense with the 49ers, I am not sure the Lions defense would be able to hold up in this environment.
Prediction: 49ers win
(5) Chicago Bears @ (2) Minnesota Vikings
The Bears would have their hands full in this Divisional Round matchup. I struggle to see how the Bears don't have a significant QB advantage in this one, and when you're this deep into the playoffs, that is something that sticks out more than other factors.
