6. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys only being able to run for 50 yards was a huge reason why they lost in Week 4. No matter how good a QB is, his offense not fielding an efficient run game makes things a lot more difficult.
Dallas only managed 16 points in a really sloppy loss on primetime. Dak Prescott threw for 316 yards, but also threw two interceptions. Despite his inefficient game, he’s still among the better QBs in the league, and with this 2026 Cowboys team, it seems pretty clear that many of their issues boil down to coaching.
Prescott takes a slight hit in our QB power rankings, but you also can’t really blame this loss on him. It’s not always as black and white as ‘the QB played poorly,’ as there are other factors that contribute to this.
The Dallas offense will be fine, but this was an ugly game they need to wash off.
5. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy takes a slight hit in our QB power rankings, but it’s not like he wasn’t still good enough for the San Francisco 49ers to win. In a rather crazy game, and one that could be a future NFC playoff matchup, Purdy went 19/29 for 189 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Doing this in Seattle feels rather impressive, but his performance was definitely a step back from what we were used to seeing to begin the year. The 49ers are 5-0 on the season, though, and earned one of the tougher wins you’ll see in today’s NFL.
And now, the 49ers have two games in hand over the Seahawks as Week 5 closes out, and, depending on how Monday Night Football goes, they could end up seeing Los Angeles fall to 2-2, which would be something.
At the moment, Purdy is still someone who should be looked at as being a favorite for the MVP award, as his 92.5 rating in Week 5 was the lowest of his season thus far, as he was over 100 in his previous four games. Purdy is quite the QB and has clearly improved quite a bit since coming into the NFL, and it feels like he’s really cemented himself as a top QB in this league since the 2026 season began.
