4. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen has thrown three interceptions over his last two games and looks human once again. Allen does this every year - he’ll look unstoppable for a certain stretch of a season before regressing and playing ugly football.

Allen obviously ends up putting things together in the end, but what we have seen the past two weeks is nothing out of the ordinary. The 3-1 Buffalo Bills have a huge primetime game against Los Angeles in Week 5.

Some would even say this could be a Super Bowl preview, and I’m not sure that’s totally inaccurate. Allen has six touchdown passes and three interceptions on the season, and he’s always among the best QBs in the league.

He appears to still be right in the middle of his prime, and as we have said before, we’re always typically having the same conversations with Allen. He’s a great, MVP-caliber player and might end up in the Hall of Fame one day, but the playoff heartbreaks will continue to be the center of this discussion until he and the Bills can break through and make a run.

3. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals predictably won against Miami in Week 5. Burrow finished 23/32 for just 190 yards, but he had four touchdown passes in a game where we all kind of knew that the Bengals were going to put up a ton of points.

The Bengals seemed to make it too close in the fourth quarter, but a win is a win. Cincy is now 3-2 on the season, and things are trending in a fine direction. You’d definitely like the defense to step up a bit, as they totally revamped that unit this offseason, but Burrow playing the way he has this year is always great news.

Burrow is among the best players in the NFL, period, and as long as he is healthy and on the field, good things happen for the Bengals offense, and this is also why it’s quite disappointing that they have not been to the playoffs since the 2022 season.
