2. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

In today’s NFL, one huge indicator of being a good team is being able to win in a variety of ways. We have seen the Jacksonville Jaguars win in blowout fashion multiple times this year, and we have also seen them win close games, which is what we saw in Week 5. Yes, there were some questionable coaching decisions by Philadelphia, but a close, ugly, low-scoring win is typically what you see later in the season when the games begin to mean more.

And Trevor Lawrence definitely didn’t have a bad outing. He completed 24 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns, tossing one interception. His stud receiver, Parker Washington, had 124 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jaguars are a really good team and just do a lot of things well. Lawrence is at the top of that ‘good’ as well. He checks just about every box you want in a franchise QB, and this type of gritty win has to feel good for the franchise.

1. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

I think it’s time we rank Jared Goff here. He deserves it. The Detroit Lions got back on track with a nice win against Arizona in Week 5. Goff went 19/30 for 271 yards. He tossed three touchdowns and had a 125.8 passer rating. He’s had a passer rating of at least 122 in three of five games this year, and his lowest rating in a game this year was 92.8 in Week 4.

Goff now has 12 touchdown passes and zero interceptions through five games, along with 1,485 yards and four games with at least 269 yards through the air. While Goff isn’t a flashy player by any means, he continues to be among the most efficient in the NFL. Since the start of the 2025 season, Goff now has 52 touchdown passes against… eight interceptions.

He takes the top spot in our QB power rankings this week. If the Lions didn’t have Goff, you could argue they’d maybe have one win but could legitimately be 0-5. Goff is a sensational player.
