28. Jalon Daniels, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It’s almost as if most QBs, even backups, can look quite sharp when the run game is working! Imagine that. Jalon Daniels and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off a bit of an upset on Thursday Night Football, defeating the Dallas Cowboys, and you can clearly see why the Bucs trusted Daniels with their backup QB job.

It’s the first win of the season for Tampa Bay. Daniels finished with 189 passing yards on 19/25 passing. His day was good for a 110.3 passer rating as well. Obviously, Baker Mayfield is the starting QB of this team, and no matter how good Daniels plays, Mayfield is going to take this QB1 role over when he’s healthy.

But there is no denying just how good of a game this was for Tampa Bay. Sure, the Cowboys defense is flat-out bad, but Daniels going into that environment and playing that well is notable.

27. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert is just taking a beating on the Los Angeles Chargers, and this is getting ridiculous. Herbert tossed one touchdown pass, but he also had a costly strip sack and threw an interception. He went 14/24 for just 121 yards. Overall, the Chargers played as well as expected against a desperate Denver team.

This feels like we’re now in an unofficial ‘lost season.’ Them potentially getting to 1-4 would have left the door open a bit, but now sitting at 0-5 with all of these injuries, it’s clearer than ever that the Chargers just need to pack it in.

I am not sure it’s wild to suggest that the team needs to trade Herbert, as this feels like an Andrew Luck situation, but what do I know? He’s been flat-out bad this year, and while the front office and coaching have not helped, he can also take some of the blame. The Chargers are going to struggle to win a game this year, folks. It’s that bad.
