24. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts saw their two-game winning streak come to an end in Week 5, losing a bit of an ugly one to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Daniel Jones was fine, I guess, tossing 267 yards on 24/44 passing.

And I’m going to keep saying this, as he keeps proving it - Jones is truly just a guy and is not going to lead this franchise anywhere. The Colts absolutely have some major issues across the board, and most of it goes back to the front office, but Jones is just not someone this franchise can lean on in the future.

He’s certainly a competent player and can be rather average if the personnel around him isn’t a disaster, but the Colts really just need a franchise reset as a whole, and that is partly evidenced by Jones being their starter in what feels like a playoff-or-bust season.

23. Jameis Winston, New York Giants

The New York Giants will absolutely take a tie in Week 5. Now 3-1-1 on the season, the Giants got into a rather ugly battle with Washington, and in typical Jameis Winston fashion, he largely looked pretty solid, going 33/54 for 326 yards and a trio of touchdowns.

This is the beauty with Winston - he’s going to make you rip your hair out time and time again, but he’ll also simply play well and give you a chance to win. The Giants aren’t going to go anywhere of note with Winston under center, but it’s hard to argue with the results thus far.

The Giants will keep riding this train as long as Winston doesn’t steer it off the tracks, and it could end up being a fun ride. In an ideal world, the Giants are 3-1-1 and seeing Jaxson Dart improve, but they’ll likely have to wait until 2027 for Dart to see the field again.
