18. Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints

I kept telling you not to sell your New Orleans Saints stock and that Tyler Shough is a ‘dude,’ but the Saints are beginning to disappoint me. Now 1-4 on the season, the Saints are going in the wrong direction and are beginning to lose a grip on things. Shough now has nine touchdown passes and five interceptions on the year, and seven of those nine touchdowns came in two games.

He has just two touchdown passes in the three other games. With that said, he does look more comfortable than he did as a rookie, but the Saints can’t keep playing like this. Shough has to begin to be more consistent week-to-week, and the defense certainly needs to step up. If those things don’t happen, they won’t be able to build off a semi-encouraging 2025 season.

17. Bo Nix, Denver Broncos

It was another ho-hum game for Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos, but Nix did not throw an interception for the second week in a row, which is notable. He began the year with an interception across his first three games. While he’s certainly not been good this year, I am not sure he’s been as bad as social media wants you to believe.

The Broncos have had a brutal schedule thus far, but they’ve mounted comebacks in all three of their wins and are a solid 3-2 before a quick week coming up in Week 6. Notably, we have not seen Nix use his legs as much, and it seems like there is some sort of mental barrier present that is limiting him from taking shots down the field.

We have seen Nix do that before, so it’s a bit odd that it’s nearly disappeared from the Broncos offense, but with the team not being able to run the ball well, defenses are able to nearly sell-out to stop the pass. You’d have to think that Nix is going to pick it up when the schedule gets closer to being league average rather than among the toughest in the sport.
