24. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

If there was one thing I was certain of going into Week 2…If there was one thing I was all but positive about…
I was certain that Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were going to absolutely whoop up on the Cleveland Browns. The Browns were destroyed the week prior against the Jaguars. The Bucs were coming off of an ugly-looking loss against the Bengals.
Mayfield going up against the team that discarded him? At home? After fumbling three times against the Bengals?
This particular game had bounce-back written all over it, but the Buccaneers continued the trend they started last year, which is to say they are spiraling out of control. At this rate, Todd Bowles is going to be lucky to make it through the season.
Mayfield is not playing well at all after signing his contract.
He was inaccurate against Cleveland, throwing for just 182 yards with 1 TD, 1 INT, and taking 3 more sacks. At least he didn’t fumble.
23. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

Everybody knows the Indianapolis Colts’ offense is Jonathan Taylor or bust. Daniel Jones just has to go out there and try not to screw things up.
Of course, when Jones is on his game, he’s developed into a really solid quarterback operating Shane Steichen’s offense. But against the Kansas City Chiefs, he lost Alec Pierce early in the game and was really limited with his options in the passing game.
Still, we saw Jones get Josh Downs involved, Tyler Warren got plenty of looks, and even Laquon Treadwell.
At this stage, Daniel Jones is just a really solid game manager. And you can win big games with him…I think.
The Colts didn’t finish the job against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, but Jones did a solid job, all things considered. That Kansas City defense is playing inspired to start the year, and Jones had to go toe-to-toe with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense, who are also looking dialed in to open the season.
This was an encouraging performance from Jones and the Colts, but he’s going to need more playmakers at the receiver position ASAP.
