16. Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints

Call it an early season hot take if you want, but I’m buying all the Tyler Shough stock right now.
Shough was extremely impressive in a Week 1 loss against the Detroit Lions, throwing for over 400 yards and coming just a two-point conversion away from pulling off a come-from-behind win after facing a 21-0 deficit.
In Week 2, Shough went into Baltimore and stole a win from The Ravens, who led 17-9 heading into the 4th quarter. The Saints ended up winning on somewhat of a controversial QB sneak at the goal line, but regardless of that individual play, the impressive start to the season by Shough cannot be denied.
He threw for 252 yards and a TD against a Jesse Minter-coached defense, and came through by engineering a 16-play touchdown drive to take the lead. This guy’s got the goods.
15. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
Last week: 13th
After two games this season, there might be some genuine concern over regression in year three for Drake Maye.
The Patriots got a win against the Steelers in Week 2, but it wasn’t pretty from Maye. He had a bad interception to Patrick Queen in this game, and has now strung together a handful of really rough performances dating back to late last season.
After finishing 2nd in MVP voting last year, we expect a lot more out of Maye. He’s obviously a phenomenal talent at the position, but ever since the Patriots’ postseason run began last year, he’s been rough.
He had just 8 interceptions all of last season, and already has thrown 4 in the first two games so far in 2026.
