8. Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos did that thing again where they seem dead in the water as the second half begins, but manage to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter and win.
We saw this play out in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Nix was excellent in the second half, as he helped lead the Broncos to 17 points across the final two quarters.
Where Nix is at his best is when he can escape the pocket and create with his legs. Jaylen Waddle was brought in to help take this pass-catching group to the next level and to help Nix be efficient in the intermediate-middle part of the field, and we did see that in Week 2.
Nix has completed a solid 66.1 percent of his passes. He has 419 yards through two weeks but does have two touchdowns against two interceptions.
The so-so TD:INT ratios that we see through two weeks will begin to look healthier as these QBs get more games under their belts, so that's not necessarily a hugely important number to look at so far.
Nix and the Broncos earned a huge win against Jacksonville in Week 2, but Nix will need to play better in the coming weeks.
7. Kirk Cousins, Las Vegas Raiders
Did anyone truly think Kirk Cousins and the Raiders could win their first two games of the season? Cousins looks quite good thus far. He's thrown for 413 yards and six touchdowns through two games. Cousins is nothing more than a short-term option, but he's also played really well for this team.
His three interceptions is tied for the second-most in the conference, but he also leads the AFC with six touchdown passes. He's only been sacked two times and has lost just five yards from those sacks, which are both the lowest figures in the AFC right now.
The Raiders might also be enjoying an early-season surge that wears off as the year progresses. We actually saw something similar in 2024 with the New Orleans Saints, a team that raced out to a 2-0 start before cooling off and ultimately struggling.
What's interesting there is that the Saints had now-Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator, so this might be a repeat of the 2024 Saints with the 2026 Raiders.
Only time will tell, but for now in the present, Cousins takes a healthy No. 7 spot in our Qb power rankings.
