12. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0 to begin the season and should be able to get to 3-0 after Monday Night Football, as the Bears won’t have Williams in this one due to his hamstring injury.
And while Philly is off to a solid start, barely beating the Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans is troubling. On paper, Jalen Hurts has played well, as the offense has scored 24 points each week.
Hurts has five touchdowns against two interceptions for a solid 100.7 passer rating. The big question for this Eagles team this year should be just how good the offense can be without AJ Brown, as he was traded to New England this offseason.
We all know that Hurts has some limitations as a passer, and only time will tell if defenses can figure out how to make Hurts do what he’s least comfortable doing, which appears to be targeting the middle of the field and consistently playing on time.
He’s by no means a bad QB, but I believe he’s a lot closer to average than some might think, as he’s been on borderline super-teams for much of his NFL career. Given the bad Bears defense for MNF, Hurts should be able to have another efficient game through the air.
11. Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
You almost don’t know where to put Bo Nix with how sloppy, but awesome, he and the Denver Broncos look at times. The Broncos were shut out in the first half of their game against Los Angeles on Sunday Night Football, but the team managed to score 30 points in the final two quarters and won by four points.
Nix totaled three touchdowns, including the game-winning score late in the fourth quarter with under a minute left. He had two passing touchdowns as well and was also 2/2 on converting two-point conversion attempts.
Nix and the Broncos have almost never made it look pretty, but this team has gone 16-4 since the start of the 2024 season, and they simply don’t do much of anything but win. While wins aren’t directly a QB stat, you can tell that winning does tend to follow some of the best QBs in the league, and Nix might be one of them.
