22. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert has completed fewer than 60 percent of his passes across the past two weeks and has thrown at least one interception all three games. Through three weeks, the Los Angeles Chargers are 0-3, and their supposed top QB now has three touchdowns and four interceptions thus far. He’s not thrown for more than 226 yards in a game yet and just looks awful.
Awful.
Listen, I understand that it solely does not fall on Herbert’s shoulders, but for how highly some people think and talk about him, you would think he’d be able to play a little bit better. That just isn’t who he is, though. Herbert is more of a QB who is ‘along for the ride’ than steering the vehicle, and with the Chargers still having a series of tough games coming up, their first win isn’t clear.
Herbert has actually seen his passing production decline a bit over the past few years. He’s not thrown for 4,000 yards in a season since 2022 and has failed to throw for more than 26 touchdowns in a season since his second year in the league.
This QB feels broken, and the franchise has also failed him. Herbert continues to fall in our QB power rankings.
21. Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers had a great chance to start 2-1 this year with a win over Cleveland, but it just wasn’t in the cards. After the encouraging start we got from the Carolina offense, Week 3 represented a game where that unit could have stacked another strong performance.
Young had a so-so game, tossing 291 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, leading his team to just 18 points on 26/48 passing. The fourth-year QB has largely been a below-average QB for much of his career, and my main worry with Young is that the 2025 version we got from him is his ceiling.
And if that remains true throughout 2026, the Panthers would have a major QB issue on their hands. Now 1-2, the Panthers dropped a pretty ugly loss and just did not see their QB play well enough to help the team win.
Young does throw a nice deep ball and can make some throws you might not think he can, but I am not sure he has that extra gear that many other QBs in this league have.
