12. Kirk Cousins, Las Vegas Raiders

Last week 10th

Captain Kirk Cousins is out there slinging the rock 52 times in a game here in the year 2026.

This man’s still got it.

The Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the league’s best stories so far this season, and Kirk Cousins has been right in the center of it. They lost their first game of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, but they gave it a valiant effort and just came up short.

Cousins finished with 365 yards through the air, 19 passing first downs, and a pair of touchdowns. The unfortunate difference in Sunday’s game for the Raiders was the “2” they put up in the turnovers category, compared to none for the Chiefs.

Despite his flaws at this stage, Cousins has proven himself to still be a highly effective starting quarterback. He’s helped the Raiders to one of the best starts we’ve seen in recent memory, and it can only help a young quarterback like Fernando Mendoza to see a veteran like Cousins out there operating the offense so well, distributing the ball, and making plays.

11. Drake Maye, New England Patriots

Last week: 26th

At long last, we have seen the Drake Maye of old return to the field for the New England Patriots.

Perhaps it was the pep talk he got in Week 3 from Mike Vrabel. Perhaps it was the radio show appearance Vrabel made calling out his horrible interception against the Jaguars.

Whatever it was, Maye came out and was absolutely slinging the ball with confidence against the Buffalo Bills. It wasn’t a perfect game as Maye had an interception (a poor throw that was initially in the hands of Romeo Doubs before it bounced up into the air and the waiting arms of a Bills defender.

Maye also had a lost fumble in this game, but there’s no need to nitpick his performance. To go on the road and beat Josh Allen and the Bills is not a small feat. He had three passing touchdowns on the day, including a clutch go-ahead drive late. He also led the Patriots in rushing yards (54).

This was the Maye we expected to see from the start of the season.
