26. Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Last week: 32nd
This was the first game of the 2026 season where we’ve really seen the duo of Cam Ward and Carnell Tate give Titans fans what will hopefully be a glimpse of the future. They connected on nine passes for 145 yards on the day, and might have made things interesting in the second half if not for Tate fumbling after one of his biggest plays of the day.
It’s those types of brutal plays where you just ache for Ward a little bit. His talent is obvious, but either he makes a mistake or two that leaves you scratching your head after a game, or his teammates let him down like that.
He threw an interception on the first drive of the game where he was simply trying to make a play and flip the ball out to his back. Part of you screams, “What are you doing?!” And part of you is thinking, “Why can’t the back catch it?!”
It’s been a tough first couple of years in the league for Ward. Hopefully the positive signs keep coming.
25. Jameis Winston, New York Giants
Last week: 28th
Even though he’s a backup, Jameis Winston is always must-see TV, isn’t he?
And it’s still so early in the season, but you can’t help but feel like the Giants might be able to actually do a little something with him at quarterback.
Now, a win against the Arizona Cardinals is not exactly reason to crown the Giants future NFC East division champions or anything, but Winston made big plays (and big mistakes) against Arizona to help his team to a win.
He threw three touchdown passes and two interceptions, giving us the full Jameis Winston experience, as it’s affectionately come to be known. And there will be plenty of times the Jameis Winston experience is maddening for the Giants, but the result in this one is what you want.
With the Cardinals and Jacoby Brissett knocking at the doorstep, Giants cornerback Deonte Banks picked it off and took it back for six to end the game. This team has some nice momentum going, and Winston gives them a fighting chance.
