4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Last week: 3rd
Joe Burrow was on a BYE in Week 6***
The Bengals were on a bye week in Week 6, so we’re taking a bit of a step back and looking at Joe Burrow’s season as a whole so far.
He came in 3rd on our rankings last week, and understandably so. Statistically speaking, Burrow is on pace for one of the best seasons of his NFL career. He’s completing 71.4 percent of his passes already this season with 11 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions.
With that in mind, he’s also had some rough moments late in games, contributing directly to the two losses the Bengals have through their first five games this season.
It’s still shocking to think that this Bengals team has not made the playoffs since the 2022 season. Their division isn’t going to do them any favors this season, and they’ve got the Ravens on the road coming out of their bye.
3. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Last week: 2nd
After having a pass picked off by the Texans in the end zone, Trevor Lawrence rebounded with a four-touchdown game in one of the most entertaining games of the week between the Jaguars and Texans.
Unfortunately, his 4 TD efffort was wasted in a loss.
The Jaguars are now going to have to deal with the pesky Texans once again.
What else can be said about Lawrence that hasn’t already? He is on pace for one of the best years of his NFL career right now, and the Jaguars have to make sure they do everything humanly possible to make sure it’s not wasted. Not only did he have 4 touchdown passes against Houston, but he also didn’t get sacked a single time by that vaunted Houston pass rush.
He’s locked in right now.
