2. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Last week: 1st
Jared Goff had a BYE in Week 6***
Jared Goff was deservedly the #1 ranked QB on our list last week, but even though he didn’t play in Week 6 (Lions on a bye), he’s dropping down a spot. That’s just the way it goes when you’re dealing with the latest Josh Allen performance.
Through five games this season, Goff has 1,485 yards passing as well as 12 touchdown passes and 0 interceptions. He’s truly one of the most accurate and efficient quarterbacks in the NFL, and he hasn’t even been on the same page with Jameson Williams all year long.
Now that the connection between Goff and Williams has started to heat up, we might see an even more dangerous offense in Detroit.
The Lions are going to be hosting the Green Bay Packers in Week 7 coming off their bye, and it should be an epic showdown between two of the league’s best at the position.
1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Last week: 4th
Apparently, Josh Allen can just shove the ball into the end zone from 15 yards out now.
Seriously, this guy doesn’t make any sense. He defies the laws of physics, and he’s simply the biggest difference-maker in the NFL right now. With the way the Bills’s defense has played so far in year one of the Jim Leonhard experience, the Bills should be extremely grateful for an offense creator like Josh Allen.
When this guy puts on the Superman cape, just look out. He had 255 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Raiders, and I just don’t think there’s any player in the NFL better than him right now.
Last week, Jared Goff ranked #1 on our QB rankings list, and he deserves praise for the way he’s played this year. But Josh Allen is the MVP in so many different ways.
