24. Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings

Kyler Murray just wasn’t that good in Week 7. Murray and the Minnesota Vikings were able to barely get by the Colts, keeping their undefeated record alive. Murray went 14/24 for 150 yards and one touchdown. He got sacked three times and finished with a 90.6 passer rating.

It was a pretty ‘meh outing for Murray. However, the Vikings still being able to win like this is something that could probably be sustainable later in the season if Murray and the offense get more comfortable with each other.

Murray is a capable QB who also added 39 rushing yards in Week 7. Kevin O’Connell is also a very good head coach and is going to continue building this offense with Murray’s strengths in mind.

The Vikings will look more efficient on offense as the weeks go on, and Murray should improve in these rankings.

23. Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks

Sam Darnold played on Sunday Night Football

Sam Darnold has not been good this year, and unless something changes, I am not sure the Seattle Seahawks are making the playoffs. With a clear absence of the run game, we’re beginning to see Darnold’s shortcomings more.

He’s struggling to protect the football and now simply looks like ‘just a guy.’ That was the case last year, but the running game then was efficient enough for Darnold to not have to do as much, and the defense was probably a bit better last year, too.

This does feel like a Super Bowl hangover year for the Seahawks, but given their home-field advantage and how good we have seen this defense play, Darnold could be a part of a primetime win this week.

But after two insanely prolific seasons in 2024 and 2025 with Minnesota and Seattle, we could be see a return to normalcy.

Update: Darnold played well enough for the Seahawks to win, but he did throw an interception in the end zone, which is as ugly as you can get. The Seahawks only put up 20 points at home in a blowout win, and I am not sure Darnold made any of the concerns we have with him currently fade away.

22. Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers

You don’t want to get too overreactive after a game like this, but at the same time, this game was about as bad as a game can possibly go in today’s NFL. Bryce Young has played more ‘bad’ football throughout his NFL career than good football, and after a bit ofa honeymoon period to begin the season this year, he and the Carolina Panthers fell back down to earth in Week 7.

A blowout loss to Tampa Bay was on the menu, and while divisional games can be a bit wacky, this was a rather inexcusable loss for the Panthers, as they were just now starting to put some thing together.

Young was unsurprisingly sent to the bench in this one, as Kenny Pickett finished things out. Young completed just 14 of his 27 passing attempts for 163 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and was sacked five times.

This may have been his worst outing in quite some time, and while players are allowed to have bad games, this one felt a bit more brutal than usual, so Young takes a huge dip in our QB power rankings.
