12. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott plays on Monday Night Football

It feels like the Dallas Cowboys are in a prime window every single week. Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys get a primetime window in Week 7, and while the Cowboys don’t strike you as a good team, the NFC East could not be more wide open right now given all the issues that Philadelphia, Washington, and New York have.

And the major advantage that the Cowboys have over those teams right now is actually the quarterback. Prescott continues to be a very efficient player, and we’re to the point with Prescott where we’re actually kind of shocked when he’s not playing well. While the playoff success in the Prescott era hasn’t been great, he’s as reliable as they come in the regular season, and given the circumstances of Monday Night Football this week, Prescott and the Cowboys really should not have much of an issue getting past the Eagles.

11. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes played on Sunday Night Football

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had what could have been the worst outing in the Mahomes era on Sunday Night Football. yes, the Chiefs aren't really doing Mahomes any favors with the personnel situation, but it's OK to admit that he played poorly.

Mahomes does get a bit sloppy with his play and mechanics at times when he needs to 'make something happen,' and the Chiefs not having consistent play at wide receiver does force Mahomes to create more than he'd probably like.

The Chiefs absolutely need to make a move for a WR before the deadline, as Mahomes cannot keep playing like this and simply needs more help.

10. Drake Maye, New England Patriots

We have begun to see New England Patriots QB Drake Maye play a lot better the past month or so after a pretty shaky start to the year. Maye did toss a pretty ugly endzone interception in Week 7, but otherwise, he was sharp against Chicago.

Maye now has four games in a row with a passer rating of at least 97.7, and three games in a row with his rating over 110. It’s clear that the early season struggles were just that, but Maye is far from perfect.

He already has eight interceptions this year, which is as many as he had last year. The Patriots are also already with three losses after their primetime loss, which is as many as they had last year.

Maye finished second in the NFL MVP voting in 2025, and while he’s bounced back nicely this year, another high MVP finish doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now.
