11. Drake Maye, New England Patriots

After a slow (and ugly) start to the season, Drake Maye has himself back in the top 5 of the NFL in passing touchdowns this season (15).

I think we all assumed that Maye would eventually come around, but there was some genuine concern after the way last year’s playoffs went, and especially after the first few games of this season.

He’s definitely come around, and is doing so with the Patriots’ running game struggling. He’s back to throwing the ball downfield with fantastic accuracy, which is his best weapon as a player. He’s got a case as the best downfield thrower in the game right now.

10. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

The reigning NFL MVP hasn’t had a flawless season in 2026, but you can’t expect that out of anyone. He’s still playing really good football, even with the Rams having some struggles as a team this season.

Stafford only had 157 passing yards (1 touchdown, 1 INT) in the Rams’ Week 8 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and it was noted after the game that he might have some discomfort in his right elbow.

That’s going to be what everyone monitors over the next handful of days, but any injury to Stafford – especially along with all of the other injuries that team is dealing with – would be a gut punch.

9. CJ Stroud, Houston Texans

CJ Stroud was on a bye in Week 8***

Despite the Houston Texans having a bad record, CJ Stroud has played really well individually this season. He has the 10th-best EPA of any quarterback in the league this season, and with his contract situation, there’s really no better time for him to post big numbers.

Unfortunately, the Texans wish it was coming along with wins as a team.

He’s 6th in the NFL with over 266 passing yards per game this season, and he has 11 touchdowns compared to just 1 interception. He’s hunting aggressively with the ball downfield and has some fun weapons he’s been spreading the ball around to.
