8. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs may have a wide receiver problem, but it’s been pretty remarkable to see Patrick Mahomes’s bounce-back year after the bad injury he suffered late last season.

Mahomes has looked just fine after the injury this season, running around and making plays like he always has, and averaging over 256 yards per game. He has 12 touchdowns compared to 4 interceptions, and the Chiefs are protecting him with their scheme (lots of quick passes).

What we saw against Denver is that Mahomes is still extremely dangerous late in games, getting the Chiefs down to the 1-yard line in the closing seconds of the game. But the Broncos’ defense stepped up and sacked him on 4th down.

The lack of help at receiver will put a ceiling on the Chiefs’ ability to throw the ball downfield. Mahomes was effective there when Tyquan Thornton was in the lineup.

7. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

There are few quarterbacks in the NFL right now making plays at the same level as Jordan Love.

Love is not exactly being reckless with the football, but he’s throwing the ball deep down the field with unbridled confidence. And it’s working out for him more often than not.

He has at least two total touchdowns in every game this season, and only one game in which he has less than two passing touchdowns. Love is making plays for his team at a time where the pass protection and running game have been absolutely non-existent for the Packers.

He’s doing more with less than any other QB in the NFL right now.

6. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow is still one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL, but we’re starting to worry a little bit about his recklessness with the football and the way he’s crumbling in big situations.

It’s worth repeating that the Bengals have not made the playoffs since the 2022 season, and while Burrow has struggled with injuries in the years since then, he’s also gotten a bit too willing to throw the ball to the wrong team (or fumble it away).

He has 5 interceptions over the last 4 games, although they all came in just two of the Bengals’ games. His 3 interceptions against the Titans were not great, but as usual, he’s capable of bouncing right back.

Burrow has the 3rd-highest EPA of any QB in the NFL this season and is never out of a game.

5. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

I don’t think Trevor Lawrence gets enough attention as a possible MVP candidate this season.

Maybe if the Jaguars weren’t playing games in London while everyone was still sleeping…

All kidding aside, Lawrence has been one of the most consistently good quarterbacks since about the midway point of the 2025 season. Coming off the bye in Week 8, he absolutely torched the Indianapolis Colts.

Lawrence only needed 10 completions (on 14 attempts) to rack up 210 yards and 3 touchdowns. That brought him up to 17 passing touchdowns this season and the 4th-highest EPA at the QB position in the NFL.
