Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Chargers, 4:25 PM ET
The Arizona Cardinals will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Mike LaFleur's first game as head coach. With both groups looking to prove their worth, the battle on the outside between Arizona's wide receiver group and Los Angeles' secondary will be fun to watch in this one.
Starting with Arizona, the group features Marvin Harrison Jr., who has had an underwhelming start to his career given his "generational" tag coming out of college, and Michael Wilson, who broke out in the last eight games of last year will need to prove that he can be a consistent contributor to this passing attack. In Los Angeles, outside of All-Pro Derwin James, much uncertainty surrounds this secondary, especially at cornerback, which will rely on the development of two second-year players, Tarheeb Still and Cam Hart. The matchup between two groups with visible chips on their shoulders is one of the more engaging matchups of Week 1.
Miami Dolphins @ Los Vegas Raiders, 4:25 PM ET
This matchup pits two teams, both with new head coaches, against each other. Klint Kubiak, the former offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, will host former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley and the Miami Dolphins. With both coaches wanting a positive start to their respective tenures, how their schemes match up in this one will be worth watching.
Kubiak is coming off a Super Bowl win in Seattle, where his scheme centered around the wide-zone running game and quarterback-friendly passing concepts. Hafley will implement an aggressive scheme in Miami, where his defense will use disguised looks to confuse opposing offenses. With both rosters looking underdeveloped, it'll be fascinating to see which coach can game plan and scheme his way to a win.
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings, 4:25 PM ET
The Minnesota Vikings defense, under defensive coordinator Brian Flores, has a simple mission: pressure the quarterback. Minnesota blitzed at a league-leading 47.7 percent rate last season, more than 13 percentage points higher than the second-highest team. All that blitzing translated into results, as the Vikings also ranked first in pressure rate.
Facing this relentless defense couldn't have come at a worse time for the Green Bay Packers, as they already enter the season with questions along the offensive line, and now both starting right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele and left guard Aaron Banks may miss Week 1. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and quarterback Jordan Love have faced Brian Flores' defense many times, but this will be a big challenge for the Packers offense given the state of their offensive line.
Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles, 4:25 PM ET
We're going to talk about scramble yards again, because why not? The Philadelphia Eagles were an excellent defense in 2025, ranking sixth in EPA per play. But they struggled to contain quarterbacks on the ground.
Philadelphia allowed the second-most rushing yards to quarterbacks in 2025. That could be a problem against Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who ran for 891 yards in 2024. However, new offensive coordinator David Blough and his pro-style scheme could look to protect Daniels, who missed 10 games due to injury in 2025.
It'll be fun to see whether Daniels looks to scramble in this matchup and whether Philadelphia has improved in this area of its defense.
