Storyline #3: What happens at the top of the 2024 NFL Draft?
We're late enough in the 2023 NFL Season that people are now looking at the 2024 NFL Draft order. Currently, by way of the Carolina Panthers, the Chicago Bears have the first overall pick. One game behind them is the New England Patriots, who are 2-10 and slated to pick second overall right now.
The last team with double-digit losses is the Arizona Cardinals, who also may have a franchise QB in the house with Kyler Murray. And I don't think the four-win teams would have a shot at earning the #1 overall pick, but all of the Washington Commanders, New York Jets, New York Giants, and Tennessee Titans all have four wins and could move up the draft board.
The most interesting thing here is whether or not the Bears would stick with Justin Fields as their QB in 2024 and not take someone like Caleb Williams. The Patriots also need a franchise passer, and I don't think that the Cardinals are actively wanting to move on from Kyler Murray.
There is so much more movement that can happen at the top of the 2024 NFL Draft in the coming weeks. We'll see what happens as the last five weeks come to a close.
