4 best landing spots for Derrick Henry to become a king again
By Ryan Heckman
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This would be a classic thunder and lightning situation.
The Bucs were the absolute worst team in the league on the ground last season, posting 88.8 yards per game. And, to be clear, it wasn't all on Rachaad White. In fact, White has been fantastic this year. He's had his best season yet, and has done a lot of damage in the passing game.
When he runs between the tackles, White often runs into a wall. The offensive line has been an issue in this area. But when White gets the ball outside the tackles or on a short pass, he is electric. For context, White caught 50 passes for 290 yards (5.8 avg) as a rookie. This year, he reeled in 64 passes for 549 yards (8.6 avg).
If the Bucs find a way to fix their interior line and sign Henry, once again, this would be a classic one-two punch with a pair of backs that have completely opposite skill sets. Tampa Bay already has a gritty, tough and competitive guy under center in Baker Mayfield. Assuming Mayfield returns, they coudl adapt an even more physical style simply by signing Henry.
And, if Tampa's defense continues to perform, watch out in 2024. They could be a team to truly threaten NFC supremacy.
