5. Jared Goff

No. 1 overall pick vs No. 1 overall pick. Jared Goff is facing his former team, the Los Angeles Rams, whom he helped make a Super Bowl appearance. The problem is that the Rams shipped out to Detroit, a wasteland at the time for Matthew Stafford, who helped the Rams secure a Super Bowl victory. Stafford doesn't have any pressure — he proved in year one as a Ram that was worth the hype. Meanwhile, Goff has been grinding ever since to prove that he deserved to be the No. 1 overall pick. Prove that he is worth the Lions building the franchise around.

Goff was fantastic, throwing for over 4,500 yards and 30 touchdowns, leading the Lions to their first division title since 1993. Despite one of his beast seasons as a pro, the future of Jared Goff is still in question. The pressure meter started when the Lions drafted a potential successor in Hendon Hooker in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

With a young quarterback breathing down his back and a team desperate to prove they can be more than a feel-good story, Goff is under some serious pressure. No, to mention he only has one year left on his deal after the 2023 season concludes. If Goff beats the Rams, he could earn himself a long-term deal as the face of the Lions franchise. If he doesn't, he'd likely have one foot out the door.
