3. Travis Etienne
The New Orleans Saints spent a pretty penny bringing in running back Travis Etienne from the Jacksonville Jaguars over the offseason, and the results have been a mixed bag. What is also a mixed bag is the nature of hamstring injuries; Etienne dealt with one during practice last week and was questionable to play on Sunday. While Etienne played, he left early after he aggravated the same injury.
Hamstrings can be fickle beasts to manage, as, as evidenced by Etienne this weekend, the ailment tends to linger. Do not be surprised if the running back misses a bit of time to, hopefully, ensure that he is fully healed and ready to go once he is over the hamstring strain. Assuming that is the route the Saints take with Etienne, expect a healthy mix of Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller to fill in for the next couple of games, at least.
2. De’Von Achane
Early in the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs matchup, Dolphins superstar running back De’Von Achane left and was promptly ruled out for the remainder of the game after an awkward tackle, leading to a knee injury. Achane tore his ACL and will now be out for the remainder of the season.
1. Jaxson Dart
The initial diagnosis for New York Giants sophomore stud quarterback Jaxson Dart was promising, and he was debatable to end up on the injured reserve. However, the operative word there is “was.” Following additional testing on his knee, the Giants announced that they would be without its starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.
With that being said, there is a chance that Dart could return if New York manages to make the playoffs, meaning that there is a world in which he could come back at some point in the postseason, if his team makes a run without him. As for the regular season, even if the Giants are competing for a playoff spot, it is best to expect that Dart will not return unless a postseason berth is achieved this year. Here is to wishing Dart a good and speedy recovery for his knee.
