Green Bay Wins At Home
After one of the most magical comebacks of the 2013 NFL Season, the Packers have earned the #4 seed and the right to host the #5 Seed San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field. This season has been a season of ups and downs for the Packers; at first going 5-2 in their first 7 games and then going 2-5-1 in their next 8 games. Going into their final game of the season, many Packer’s fans didn’t know what to expect considering they would be playing on the road with a QB who was just recently activated after a brutal shoulder injury. In the first three quarters it looked as if the Bears were actually going to pull of a win at home and take the NFC North title, however with 38 seconds left, Aaron Rodgers had a different idea in mind. In stunning fashion, on 4th and 7, Rodgers passed a bomb to WR Randall Cobb who then dove into the end zone for the game winning touchdown. Although the road to this wildcard game has been rough and bumpy, the Packers are focusing on the positives right now. The yare honestly focusing on the task at hand which is beating the San Francisco 49ers, the team that beat them in the season opener and most importantly last season in the 2012 playoffs (Niners ended up going to the Super Bowl). This season is going to be different, however. Reason being both teams have changed drastically. This season (unlike last season), the Packers with rookie Eddie Lacy actually have a legitimate running game to compliment their already beastly passing game. With his combination of power and speed, Lacy has taken the league by storm and has already put in a convincing argument for rookie of the year. The Packers defense, although injury plagued, is practically the same as last season except for some minor position changes. The main change is with the 49ers. This season Kaepernick, the Quarterback ESPN analysts were talking about non-stop last season hasn’t been doing as great as we would’ve liked to have seen. Along with huge drops in passing yards and TDs per game, Kaepernicks running game has suffered as well. I believe in this upcoming game Kaepernick will throw for at least 150 yards and maybe 2 TDs, but nothing more than that. Look for the Packers and A-Rod (Aaron Rodgers apparent nickname) to prove to the NFC that last season was just a fluke for the Pack. 35-32 Packers over the 49ers.
