The 2014 NFL season was quite a wild ride. It was a year that featured an unbelievable amount of black eyes for the league but it also had its share of exciting moments too. The folks at Qprism put together an infograph that serves as a timeline for the entire season.

This feature doesn’t miss a single story from the crazy year that was the 2014 NFL season. We’re about 10 days removed from the Super Bowl so now is a good of a time as ever to reflect back on the season that was. The best part here is that this review of the season is for all NFL fans and teams. It does a good job capturing the entire essence of the league in 2014.

As the above infograph laid out, there were seven new NFL head coaches heading into the 2014 season. It essentially ranked them, from top to bottom, based on success this season. Here are each new coach’s records in their first season with their new teams.

7. Lovie Smith, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 2-14 in 2014
6. Ken Whisenhunt, Tennessee Titans: 2-14 in 2014
5. Jay Gruden, Washington “Redskins”: 4-12 in 2014
4. Mike Pettine, Cleveland Browns: 7-9 in 2014
3. Mike Zimmer, Minnesota Vikings: 7-9 in 2014
2. Bill O’Brien, Houston Texans: 9-7 in 2014
1. Jim Caldwell, Detroit Lions: 11-5 in 2014 (made playoffs)

Caldwell easily takes the cake here as the most successful coaching change. That said, he inherited, by far, the most talented roster of the seven.

However, Zimmer gets my vote as the best new coach as he brought the Vikings within one game of a .500 record despite losing Hall of Fame bound running back Adrian Peterson in September. And he did it with a rookie quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater. Many questions surround the Vikings heading into 2015, but none are bigger than what everyone is wondering — will Peterson be back?

The infograph goes on to highlight a few specific moments from the season. Highlighted are the fine that Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown received for drop-kicking the Cleveland’s punter, Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers telling the fans to “R-E-L-A-X”, and New York Giants’ rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.’s jaw-dropping one-handed catch. I mean, you probably didn’t forget about that catch, but still.

The saddest thing included on this infograph? The mention, near the end of the timeline, of Josh Gordon‘s latest failed league-issued drug test. He most certainly will not be included in the 2015 NFL season timeline because he’s been suspended for a year. His career may already be over, which is an incredible shame.
