As players are getting back on the field, I will take a look  at the expectations and give predictions for the New England Patriots wide receivers and tight ends 2015 season receiving stats. Currently, I will to do this under the assumption that Tom Brady will be missing the first four games of the season. I will be predicting all the stats over a 16 game season, as I can not predict injury.

More from New England Patriots

WR:

Julian Edelman

Edelman is the clear No.1 wide receiver in New England and is Tom Brady‘s go to guy on important plays and third downs. Ever since Wes Welker left, Edelman has become a star and has been a huge contributor in both receiving and also punt returning.

Last year he failed to reach the 1000 yards by 28 yards and that was mostly due to him missing two games. Edelman again with be the No.1 target for Patriots, though one never knows if Jimmy Garoppolo might lean on a different wide receiver a bit more. I believe Edelman will continue to post very consistent and solid numbers in 2015 and will have another big year.

Prediction: 98 Receptions, 1045 Receiving yards, 5 TD’s

Brandon LaFell

LaFell surprised many last year with excellent play. Despite not being targeted a single time in the first two games in the 2014, he only fell 47 yards short of 1000 yards in his first season with the Patriots. He played a lot bigger role in the Pats offense than many expected.

He could be the wide receiver to benefit from Jimmy Garoppolo playing the first four games, because LaFell had his first big performance when Garoppolo entered the Chiefs game. LaFell is a big wide receiver with solid speed and he showed a great ability to break tackles last season. I think he will continue to  perform at last years level and will have another good year.
