Tennessee Titans: Still Trying to Fix Their Running Game
There are those who say that there are very few trades when it comes to the NFL.
We beg to differ…for at least this summer.
The wheeling and dealing throughout the National Football League continued on Sunday as clubs looked to fine tune their rosters.

Not long after the Dallas Cowboys obtained running back Christine Michael from the Seattle Seahawks for a future draft choice, the Tennessee Titans (as reported by ClevelandBrowns.com) picked up talented running back Terrance West in a deal with the Cleveland Browns for a conditional draft choice in 2016. The announcement was made by Browns general manager Ray Farmer.
West, the second of the team’s two third-round picks in the 2014 draft, wound up leading the Browns in rushing attempts (171) and yards (673) as a rookie while running for four touchdowns. The former Towson State product played in 14 games and made six starts in his debut campaign. While West had his moments as a runner, he was not much of a factor when it came to the passing game, snaring just 11 passes for 64 yards and a score.
Unfortunately for West, he found himself on the outs with the Cleveland coaching staff at times as a rookie, as discussed by Nate Ulrich of the Beacon Journal four months ago. Now he joins a Titans’ team that finished 26th in the league this past season, averaging a mere 90.4 yards per game on the ground.

West joins a club that includes running backs Bishop Sankey (team-high 569 yards rushing in 2014), Dexter McCluster, Antonio Andrews and David Cobb. Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com reports that Cobb was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list.
Meanwhile, just as was the case during the 2014 regular season, West led the Browns in rushing yards this summer, totaling 31 carries for 113 yards without a touchdown. He played in all four preseason game this year but his stay in Cleveland has come to a somewhat abrupt end.
During the preseason, the Titans averaged 109.4 yards per game rushing, a slight improvement from last year’s regular-season performance. Now West joins a very crowded backfield that includes a rookie quarterback (Marcus Mariota) and hopefully a running back that can emerge as the main threat when it comes to the ground attack.
