It seems that when the Eagles lose games this year they like to look terrible on the offensive side of the ball. The defense may have given up 27 points, but a deeper look into the game shows they were the bright spot once again for the struggling team in Philly.

Sam Bradford has taken a lot of heat this season and many have been critical about his play. ESPN’s Ron Jaworski said that, “Bradford has been terrible this year,” and tonight he played close to terrible.

Bradford ended the game completing 26-of 46 passes for 205 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. The Eagles starting quarterback hit a couple throws at the end of the game, all check downs, which actually made his stats look somewhat better than what they were; if getting to 205 yards on 46 attempts is any better.

Bradford has been horrible this year. There is no other way to put it. Horrible.

He has only thrown for nine touchdowns this season, which puts him at fourteenth in the NFL even though he is second in the league in pass attempts with 274. Bradford is also first in the NFL with 10 interceptions and has also lost a fumble.

The defense forced three turnovers tonight, all interceptions, and they gave Bradford two opportunities to go down and tie the game in the fourth quarter but he was unable to do so.

However, the Eagles loss was not all on Bradford’s horrible play. The Eagles wide receivers played horrible tonight as well. When your quarterback is struggling, you need to help him out and the Eagles receiving “weapons” did not. The Eagles wide receivers dropped the ball Sunday night and they dropped it a lot.

Bradford’s lone interception was a pass that was behind Jordan Matthews, who has recently seemed to be eating popcorn before the games, but the pass could have been caught.

Josh Huff dropped a touchdown pass from Bradford in the back of the end zone. It was not a perfect throw by Bradford, but again, the pass could have been caught.

Bradford has had his fair share of struggles, but he threw some good passes tonight that were just dropped. There is no excuse for a dropped pass and the Eagles wide receivers need to get it together.

However, even when your wide receivers drop passes, you still need to win the game. Well, that is what elite NFL quarterbacks like Tom Brady do, but not Bradford.

This loss was a disappointing one for the Eagles and they went from first place in the NFC East to third because of it. They came into the night on a two-game winning streak and had fans thinking they were finally going to put it all together, but after this loss, fans have no clue what to think of this Eagles team.

To make matters worse, the Eagles had all the opportunities to actually walk away with another win tonight even after how horrible the offense played, but they just dropped the ball…literally.
