The Steelers got off to a rough start when they lost two fumbles less than three minutes into the game. One was by Jacoby Jones on the opening kickoff and the other was by DeAngelo Williams on the Steelers’ first offensive possession. However, an interception by Jarvis Jones and a great defensive stand only put the Steelers down 3-0.

More from Pittsburgh Steelers

“I’ll tell you what, we could have easily been down 14-0 to start that game but our defense really stepped up when their backs were against the wall.”

On the Steelers next two possessions they had a few opportunities to score touchdowns but missed on both drives. Instead, kicker Chris Boswell converted on two field goal attempts. One was from 29 yards out and the other was from 51 yards out. The Steelers would take that 6-3 lead into the 2nd quarter.

“Can I tell you how happy I am NOT to see Josh Scobee kicking for us anymore? Boswell might not be anything special but at least he’s somewhat reliable.”

On Indianapolis’ second possession after the field goal, their offense marched 54 yards down the field and scored a touchdown when Matt Hasselbeck connected with Frank Gore for a 9-yard touchdown. The Colts would take a 10-6 lead. It would be the last time the Colts would score for the rest of the game.

“I thought we had ourselves a game after Gore scored that touchdown in the second quarter. Boy was I wrong.”

Following the touchdown, the Steelers responded right away on their next possession. They put together a 10-play, 80-yard drive that was capped off by a 7-yard touchdown reception by Antonio Brown. The most exciting play on the drive was when Martavis Bryant made a leaping catch over Greg Toler for 26 yards. Bryant and Brown combined for 5 receptions, 69 yards and a touchdown on the drive. Following a successful 2-point conversion, the Steelers would take the lead 14-10.

“I’m not sure who I love more: Antonio Brown or Martavis Bryant. They might be the most dangerous WR duo in the league.”

“Did you see that catch by Bryant in the second quarter? Greg Toler got embarrassed.”

After failing to get the a first down on three plays, the Colts’ offense punted the ball to Jacoby Jones who muffed the punt. Luckily for the Steelers, Darrius Heyward-Bey recovered the fumble. It was Jones’ second fumble of the game.

“Cut Jacoby Jones. Just cut him. I hated him when he was with the Ravens and if it’s possible, I hate him even more now that he’s with the Steelers.”

“Bring Antwaan Randle El out of retirement. Re-sign Dri Archer. I don’t care. Just get rid of Jones.”

Following the fumble recovery, the Steelers scored another touchdown when Ben Roethlisberger hit Markus Wheaton for a 5-yard touchdown. Wheaton had 3 receptions for 50 yards on the drive. (Steelers 21-10).

“Wheaton finally looks like he’s putting it together. He’s no Brown or Bryant but I’ll take him as our 3rd WR.”

On the Steelers 3rd offensive play in the second half, Ben Roethlisberger hit Martavis Bryant up the right sideline 68-yard touchdown. Greg Toler was victimized yet again on the play. (Steelers 28-10)

“Martavis Bryant owned Greg Toler last night. I’m glad Toler’s not on our team. Scratch that. I wish he was because I’d make him our return man instead of Jacoby Jones. Just cut the guy already.”

On the third play of the 4th quarter, Big Ben found Antonio Brown in the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown. It was the second time Brown beat CB Vontae Davis for a touchdown. (Steelers 35-10)

“Brown had Davis’ number last night. It wasn’t the first or the last time Brown is going to put a Pro Bowler to shame.

With a little more than four minutes left in the game, Antonio Brown put an exclamation point on the Steelers’ victory when he took the punt 71-yards for a touchdown. (Steelers 45-10)
