Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants needs a serious wake-up call—one that stops making him such a distraction for Big Blue.

As the New York Giants lost their Week 4 Monday Night Football matchup to the Minnesota Vikings, one glaring issue has been wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Even the week before, Beckham continues to show just how immature and unprofessional he can be. He allows the opposition get under his skin and it’s clearly affecting his play.

There is no denying just how much of an incredible athlete Beckham is. He’s an electrifying player that could very well have a career worthy of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Problem is, his inability to keep his emotions in check and focus on the task at hand are now becoming a serious problem for the Giants.

Here’s a look at just one of many incidents against the Vikings on Monday Night Football.

Football is all about being a professional, execution, and above all else, representing your team to the highest degree. Ever since Beckham has been hitting football equipment and acting like an immature brat as of late, the Giants are losing and he’s become a non-factor now.

Actions like what you’re about to see below are inexcusable. Hopefully, the Giants hold him accountable as well as the NFL for showing his arrogant nature for causing such a penalty against an official:

At the end of the day, Beckham is turning into a nightmare as it’s evident that his stardom is getting to his head—or something of the sort. He’s never going to be bigger than the Giants and until they or someone gives him a major wake-up call, he’s never going to amount to anything other than being labeled a crybaby.

Beckham has all the potential in the world to be a dominant wide receiver but his actions need to equal some major discipline. Perhaps the Giants should consider benching him for at least a game or two to calm him down.

At the rate Beckham is going, the NFL might also very well come down hard on him for continuing to get unsportsmanlike penalties. It’s okay to ignore your opponent,s but to start getting all worked up and having such an angry, almost to the point of resorting to violence reaction, is completely uncalled for.

Overall, enough is enough with Beckham’s lack of professionalism and being a bad sport when it comes to playing in the NFL. He’s taking a golden opportunity for granted and the time is now to hit him with severe accountability and have him face the consequences of his recent actions.
