The Cowboys are coming off their bye week holding a 5-1 record, winning their last five games with the rookie duo of quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott. Those two have been a catalyst of the Cowboys’ return to the top of the NFC East standings through their first six games of the season.
Philadelphia drafted a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick this past April, and Carson Wentz hasn’t disappointed them at all this season. The Eagles are 4-2 entering the game, coming off a 21-10 win, a victory that handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season.
This will be the first of two matchups between the Cowboys and Eagles this season taking place at AT&T Stadium. A win by the Cowboys would give them a two-game lead over the Eagles. However, a tie would not only put them even with Philly, but it would be the second loss within the division for the Cowboys as well.

Both teams need this win in Week 8, but it would be more beneficial for the Eagles. A win would allow the Eagles to not only avoid a two-game deficit to the Cowboys around the midway point of the season, but they would gain even more confidence by knocking off a second team with five wins in consecutive weeks.
This game could come down to which team gains the early advantage. The Cowboys have shown they are very tough to beat if they start off with great play. Look at how well the Cowboys did in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals with a 28-0 lead through three quarters, including a 21-0 halftime advantage.
The same could be said for the Eagles this past Sunday, when they led 18-3 after three quarters against Minnesota.
