The New York Giants snapped the Dallas Cowboys’ 11-game winning streak with a strong defensive effort on Sunday Night Football.

The New York Giants stood in front of the Dallas Cowboys in their pursuit of clinching a first-round bye and NFC East Championship on Sunday Night Football. The G-Men stopped any celebrations by Dallas, snapping the 11-game win streak built by the Cowboys this season. In the process, the Giants helped their own playoff push.

Scoring on Sunday night wasn’t what the Cowboys have become accustomed to this season, though they were first to score in the game with Prescott faking out the entire Giants defense, finding a wide-open Terrence Williams for a 31-yard touchdown for the lone points of the first half.

Those seven points turned out to be the lone points the Giants defense would allow for the game. At the end of the second quarter, Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey missed a 55-yard field goal attempt, which would have put the Cowboys up 10-3 at halftime.

The Giants took over in the third quarter, beginning with a 39-yard field goal by Robbie Gould. Next, after forcing an interception, the Giants had the combo of Eli Manning-to-Odell Beckham Jr. connect for a 61-yard score, taking a 10-7 lead into the fourth quarter.

New York was driving in the fourth quarter to add to their three-point lead, but it was another Cowboys rookie Anthony Brown who made a play, intercepting a Manning pass to keep the score at 10-7, but the offense was unable to take advantage of the turnover.

The Cowboys had two chances late in the fourth quarter, but a fumble by Dez Bryant on what would have been a first down, and being unable to gain enough yards to keep the drive going in the final minute of play, finalized the win for the Giants.

Odell Beckham Jr., Giants — He had the biggest play of the game when he scored the 61-yard touchdown, which was the difference on the scoreboard. He finished with four receptions for 94 yards and the one touchdown.

Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys — Elliott gained his sixth 100-plus yard rushing game of the season, his first since Week 10. The rookie finished with 24 carries for 107 yards, with his longest rush going for 15 yards.

Giants Defense — The entire defense of the Giants needs praise for their performance. They stopped the momentum of the Cowboys. They held the Cowboys to their lowest scoring total of the season and made the offense of the Cowboys look mortal.

The Dallas Cowboys will be back on Sunday Night Football for Week 15, hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay, who is on a five-game winning streak, is tied for first in the NFC South with an 8-5 record. New York plays again next Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, who are second in the NFC with a 9-4 record.
