Arian Foster Injury: Houston Texans RB has ‘slight limp’

At this point, it’s far to question the Houston Texans and head coach Bill O’Brien, because it doesn’t look like they learned their lesson from the mistakes that Gary Kubiak made with star running back Arian Foster in his time as the team’s head coach. Foster was constantly overworked, and the years of abuse on his legs finally took a toll when he suffered a season-ending injury last season. Unfortunately, O’Brien ignored the warnings by giving Foster a ridiculous 59 touches in his first two games, and while I understand that the Texans have to make him the focal point of the offense if they want to win, making him average around 30 touches per game is only going to make things worse.

More from Houston Texans

Foster missed last week’s loss to the New York Giants with a hamstring injury, but he will be back today against a tough Buffalo Bills run defense. The Texans have to be careful that he doesn’t suffer an aggravation, but all we’ve heard today is that Foster is fully healthy, ready to go, and will not have his workload limited by rising RB2 Alfred Blue, who would help Foster out a great deal by siphoning some carries.

The NFL Network’s Albert Breer reports that Arian Foster, who seemed like a pseudo-game-time decision instead of a full-blown one, was spotted with a “slight limp” during pre-game warm-ups. This is the first concerning thing we’ve heard about his status in what’s been an otherwise optimistic, sunshine-and-rainbow day of reports on Foster’s status. It’s easy to dismiss one report in the face of many, but it makes far more sense for Foster to have some sort of a limp on a soft-tissue injury.

Furthermore, Breer reports that the Texans will “monitor” Foster’s hamstring injury early in the game before making a decision on how many carries he splits with Blue. Fantasy owners should still start Foster, but they need to be very wary of this new information.
