Ben Tate, Cecil Shorts Injury Updates
Cleveland Browns starting running back Ben Tate had the bye week to rest on the knee injury he suffered in Week 1, though the former Houston Texans No. 2 back was still worried about his availability for today’s game against the Tennessee Titans. Still, Tate was only listed as probable on the team’s injury report after receiving all of that rest, so most people expected him to suit up today.

Per the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot, Tate is indeed active today, and he should lead the Browns rushing attack against a Titans defense that won’t be too difficult to run on. The Browns have an excellent trio of backs in Tate, Isaiah Crowell, and Terrance West, and while Tate is the most proven of them (and probably the best of the bunch right now), Crowell is the most talented of the three and should eventually lead the Browns in carries.
Jacksonville Jaguars star wide receiver Cecil Shorts continues to have issues getting healthy, and he and fellow wide receiver Marqise Lee are both inactive this week, according to Jaguars official site beat writer John Oehser. Shorts and Lee are establishing themselves as incredibly injury-prone players, and it’s hurting a Jaguars WR corps that should be deep. Oh well, at least Ace Sanders is back from his suspension to face a light Pittsburgh Steelers secondary.
