Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie traveled with team, not optimistic

New York Giants star cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is highly questionable to play in the team’s big matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, and his matchup would cause Prince Amukamara to be locked up with Dez Bryant in coverage for most of the day. The Cowboys offense is red-hot, whereas the Giants are coming off of an embarrassing shutout lost on SNF last week against another rival team in the Philadelphia Eagles. Coming off of a win over the Seattle Seahawks, nobody is playing better than the Cowboys right now, as they have graced the top spot in a majority of weekly power rankings.

More from New York Giants

Rodgers-Cromartie has been a true shutdown corner this year after concerns that he would mail it in for the second straight time after signing a major contract with an NFC East team, but he’s looked exactly like the elite player he was last season for the Denver Broncos. After not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday, DRC barely practiced and is listed questionable on the team’s injury report.

According to NJ.com’s Jordan Raanan, the good news is that DRC traveled with the Giants and has a shot at playing. The bad news is that he might have a limited role or miss the game entirely, so he looks like a huge toss-up. The Giants have enough talent in the secondary despite some tough injuries this year, but DRC’s loss would be felt. He’s currently dealing with three injuries, so we probably won’t know his status until the gameday.
