New York Giants Jon Beason expected to visit Dr. Anderson

New York Giants middle linebacker Jon Beason was sidelined for a few weeks earlier this year after aggravating his toe injury in Week 2, as he originally suffered the injury in the offseason. Beason returned for the team’s Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but his return to health didn’t last too long for a Giants defense that misses his quality play and leadership skills when he’s out. That said, they’ll have to continue to prepare for absences on Beason’s part, because he’s one of the more injury-prone players in the league.

Beason, sadly, re-aggravated his toe injury in yesterday’s 31-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, though his X-Rays did at least turn up negative. The Giants are on a bye this week before facing the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9, but it’s possible Beason could be out for longer than that if the aggravation is bad enough. Considering how much trouble this toe injury has already given him, we have no idea how long this latest issue could cost him.

According to NJ.com’s Jordan Raanan, Giants head coach Tom Coughlin stated that Beason will likely have to meet with Dr. Robert Anderson, and that’s definitely a grim sign. Hopefully his visit goes well, but that’s not how these things usually shake out.
