8. New Crop of Top Wide Receivers Around the League

In 2013 four wide receivers averaged 100-yards per game receiving. They were Julio Jones, Justin Blackmon, Josh Gordon, and Calvin Johnson. In 2014 there are once again four wide receivers averaging 100-yards per game, but they’re all different. In 2014 it’s Demaryius Thomas, T.Y. Hilton, Antonio Brown, and Golden Tate accomplishing the feat. Of course legal issues and injuries have impacted these statistics greatly, it’s still interesting to see the dramatic turnaround of the top producing wide receivers in the NFL.

7. Von Miller’s Sacks

The Broncos’ pass-rushing outside linebacker is currently riding an impressive six-game sack streak dating back to Week 2. From Week 5 to Week 7 he recorded multiple sacks in all three games and has a total of nine already on the season. That puts him on pace for at least 20 sacks on the season. No other pass-rusher has dominated for a three-game stretch like that this season or has a longer sack streak. Although, the Chiefs’ Justin Houston may lead the league (he’s on pace for almost 23). The race for most sacks in the NFL in 2014 is going to be a fun one to watch. Clearly Miller’s No. 76 ranking was way off.
