Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins was listed questionable on the injury report for today’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he’s always looked like a full-blown game-time decision after not practicing on Thursday and Friday. Watkins aggravated a groin injury at practice on Wednesday, and while the injury was deemed to be minor, it’s still a big concern whenever a player suffers an injury at practice and can’t get back on the field on Friday. He’s also a rookie dealing with an aggravation, so I though the Bills would err on the side of caution with him.

It sounds like Watkins is healthy enough to play today against the Chiefs, as CBS Sports’s Jason La Canfora reports that Watkins and Fred Jackson will play today, barring a setback during pre-game warm-ups. Both players are technically game-time decisions and were expected to miss today’s game at certain points during the week, but it looks like both will get the green light.
We still don’t know how many snaps both players get, and I think it’s safe to say that Jackson will be limited in his first game back from a torn adductor longus. Jackson suffered the injury in Week 7, and he’s made yet another quick recovery in his career by returning this week. He practiced everyday, which was a surprise, but Bills head coach Doug Marrone was coy on the veteran’s status. I expect Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown to get significant carries as the Bills look to ease Jackson into things.
