Vincent Jackson, Charles Sims Injury Updates
Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver Vincent Jackson was listed questionable on the team’s injury report with a rib injury after missing practice on Wednesday, but he returned to practice on Thursday and has always been expected to play today against the easy Atlanta Falcons defense. This is definitely a revenge game for the Buccaneers, who will be going back to veteran quarterback Josh McCown as their starter. McCown hasn’t played since struggling mightily against the Falcons in an embarrassing blowout loss on Thursday Night Football, and he was also bounced out from the game with a thumb injury to add injury to insult. Both the Falcons and Buccaneers have been disappointments this season and sport dreadful records, and both teams will look to try and turn around their seasons by building off of a win today.

Jackson was always expected to be active today, and he will indeed suit up to face the Falcons. It’s unclear if Jackson’s rib injury is real or if it’s just a designation to get him some more rest each week, since he is getting older and needed rest days last year. Either way, he’s always been locked in to play and is active. After Mike Evans rolled through the Cleveland Browns last week, it will be interesting to see if McCown hits him up more than Jackson (though, of course, Evans caught those passes from Mike Glennon).
Evans is a source of hope for Buccaneers fans, and they will hope running back Charles Sims can prove to be another building block for the Bucs offense. Sims was activated off of the short-term injured reserve last week, but he did not play against the Browns. He has been given time to practice and rest before making his debut today against a much easier Falcons defense, and the Buccaneers coaching staff if certainly high on what the well-rounded RB can do.
