Lamar Miller, Rashad Jennings Injury Updates

Miami Dolphins feature back Lamar Miller played through an AC sprain yesterday against the Detroit Lions, and he was even more limited than we expected, receiving just four carries and turning them into a meager ten yards against the Lions tough run defense. There’s been plenty of speculation that Miller aggravated his shoulder injury and could miss the team’s next game, especially since they promoted LaMichael James from the practice squad.

More from Miami Dolphins

Thankfully, the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero reports that Miller “is fine” and did not aggravate his injury against Detroit, and Salguero reports that Miller can practice and play this week against the rival Buffalo Bills if he doesn’t suffer a setback. I’m sure Miller is in a great deal of pain, but I have a feeling we’ll see him out there this week, though he doesn’t have much time, since the Dolphins play on Thursday. It looks like they made a mistake playing him yesterday, but it might not come back to bite them.

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings was held out of yesterday’s blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but he’s always been expected to return for another big NFC West game this week against the San Francisco 49ers, who are high off of an overtime win over the New Orleans Saints. ESPN NFL Nation’s Dan Graziano reports that it’s “looking good” for Jennings to make his return this week. At this point, I would be surprised if he doesn’t play, and he and Odell Beckham Jr. are two of the most important players on the team right now.
