Cleveland Browns star tight end Jordan Cameron suffered a concussion back in Week 8 against the Oakland Raiders, and he hasn’t been able to play since. Cameron’s absence last week against the Cincinnati Bengals was unsurprising, as he was always expected to miss two weeks; it would have been unrealistic to expect him to make the turn-around for a Thursday Night Football game. Unfortunately, it looks like Cameron, whose concussion history worries the team, will miss a third week after missing practice today.

CBS Sports’s Jason La Canfora reports that the Browns are still concerned about Cameron’s status, as they should be, and he adds that the star TE was unable to practice today. Cameron has not practiced at all this week, and I would honestly be shocked if he’s able to suit up against the Houston Texans. On the bright side, Tashaun Gipson returned from last week’s concussion.
Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams also did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but the Panthers didn’t seem concerned at all regarding the status of their oft-injured- but most consistent- running back. Per the Charlotte Observer’s Joe Person, Williams was able to return to the practice field today, so that’s why the team wasn’t worried about his status.
The Panthers will face the rival Atlanta Falcons in a critical game for them, especially since they lost to the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago. Both the Panthers and Falcons must keep the pace in the NFC South, and having Williams out there against the Falcons defense will aid Ron Rivera and his squad.
